TITLE: Assistant Cook STATUS: 0.7 FTE – Permanent Part-Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Cook is responsible to the Head Cook to ensure a high standard of service delivery for the Food
Services Department. The position includes food preparation and handling, dining room and cleanliness of food
services areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Journeyman cook preferred, but not required

• Working knowledge of preparing meals for senior populations

• Considerable experience in group / institutional cooking

• Supervisory experience preferred

• WHMIS and First Aid training required

• Food Handling course required

• Responsible for the preparation of food
• Assist in menu planning
• Assist dietary staff where required
• General organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, dining room, housekeeping and food storage areas

SHIFT INFORMATION
Mandatory LAPP membership for permanent Part-time and Full-time employees that work a 0.7 FTE or greater (see policy FS 03-04)

Hours per shift: 8 hrs Shift pattern: Days Shifts per Cycle:

Commencement Date: November 19, 2025 or until a
suitable candidate is found
