Permanent Full-Time Opportunity
As a member of the management team the Culinary Manager is charged with the management of nutrition and hospitality services to ensure the Culinary Manager is responsible and accountable for managing all aspects of the food service within the Home and meeting the nutritional needs of the residents. Ensures and provides safe, efficient and effective preparation and delivery of food to residents and staff and for special events.
The following traits and qualifications are required:
Successful completion of the food handlers training program, provided by public health, under the Health Protection and Promotion Act
Experience in large quantity food preparation, financial planning and food purchasing.
Proven supervisory experience in a retirement or long-term care setting
Must be knowledgeable of nutritional needs of the residents in a retirement facility setting
Must demonstrate a creative flair for menu planning, preparation and presentation.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have strong leadership skills and proven ability to supervise and secure the co-operation of departmental employees.
Must be able to work and communicate effectively with residents of the facility
Must be an effective team player who works well with others.
Must be knowledgeable of the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, Food Safety Code of Practice and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating
Minimum two years progressive related experience in an institutional setting such as Retirement facility

Employment with Jarlette Health Services will be contingent on proof of two vaccinations against COVID-19, a screening for tuberculosis, a receipt of a current criminal reference check, including vulnerable sector screening and two ( 2 ) references.
