We have an opportunity on our Operations Team for a Food Services & Custodian Assistant . This role will commence on January 5, 2026 and will be full-time Food Services when school is in session and full-time facilities when school is out of session.

Aberdeen Hall provides
Competitive Compensation at an annual salary of $45,000 to $50,000, inclusive of vacation pay and commensurate with experience
4 weeks vacation every year
Comprehensive enhanced benefits package
RRSP contribution of 8% for employees who invest 4% of their salary
2 paid breaks per day
Salary includes reduced summer hours in July and August
Annual footwear stipend of $150

Position summary
The Food Services & Custodian Assistant is an important part of the Aberdeen Hall community, helping to create a welcoming and caring environment for students, employees, and families. This role supports the daily operations of the school’s Food Services Program and, when school is not in session, joins the Facilities Team. It helps ensure that healthy, high-quality meals are prepared and served with care and excellent customer service. By maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace and upholding WorkSafe BC, OHS, and Interior Health standards, this position contributes to the smooth running of school life and reflects Aberdeen Hall’s commitment to excellence, kindness, and community.
Success factors
Experience in food service or hospitality, with knowledge of safe food handling and workplace safety standards.
Skilled in custodial and maintenance tasks using standard equipment and procedures.
Reliable, organized, and attentive to detail, with strong time management.
Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
WHMIS certified (or willing to obtain) and able to maintain a clear Criminal Record Check.
Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a positive, collaborative attitude.
