Your Opportunity:
As members of the multidisciplinary health care team, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), working within their scope of practice, collaborate on the delivery of care to meet the needs of clients. LPNs assist with the provision of nursing care to individuals in all developmental stages, contribute to the nursing diagnosis, and participate in nursing interventions and outcomes.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Excellent organizational skills and time management. Demonstrated and effective communication skills. Ability to actively participate in a collaborative approach to meeting health goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Specialty modules in Gerontology and Community Care preferred. Community Nursing experience preferred. Familiarity with computer applications: Internet, Microsoft Office, Meditech training an asset. Experience in wound care, palliative care, HPT and client teaching.
