Jacobs is seeking a Licensed Water/Wastewater Operations Supervisor to join our treatment team in Goderich, Ontario. As the Water/Wastewater Treatment Supervisor, you’ll work with project staff to oversee compliance reporting, maintenance of equipment and quality control testing. Partnering with other team members and our client, you’ll apply knowledge of the principles, methods and tools employed in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors and related equipment, wastewater process control, permit compliance, and safe work practices. You’ll also have the opportunity to monitor, record and operate two treatment plants, provide SCADA system overview; diagnose operating problems and direct effective correction procedures; prepare required reports and maintain complete recordkeeping procedures; analyze recording instrument readings and process laboratory testing results and adjust various plant processes accordingly; perform plant inspections to determine and maintain efficiency of operations, cleanliness, and assist with maintenance activities including remedial action in emergencies; supervise, evaluate and train employees and perform other duties as required.

Here's what you'll need

  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge in the repair, replacement, installation and maintenance of water and wastewater system components.
  • Strong knowledge of the relevant regulatory and legislative acts, codes, policies, guidelines and procedures related to water operations and maintenance
  • Knowledge of laboratory analytical procedures and QA/QC programs
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints and other technical specifications
  • Familiarity with computers, including monitoring and operating systems (SCADA) and other operational and process data collection/reporting systems
  • Analytical, problem-solving, planning and scheduling skills required to effectively inspect, operate and monitor the facilities processes and equipment
  • Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance; take samples, interpret results and make process control adjustments to resolve operating issues
  • Good oral and written communication skills to liaise with a variety of people including coworkers, clients, suppliers, while keeping accurate logs and writing reports
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative, manage multiple and changing demands and priorities while working independently and with other staff
  • Possess a valid Class G driver’s license throughout the course of employment
  • Level II Water Treatment, Level II Water Distribution, Level II Wastewater Treatment, Level I Wastewater Collection licenses
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment

51,600.00

Posted Salary Range Upper

67,800.00
