Salary: SA Grade F - $32.16 - $41.81/hour
FTE: 1.0 - 35 hours per week
This is a temporary position with an expected end date of April 30, 2026.
What does this role look like?
Accountability
This position is accountable for:
Providing full cycle recruitment including; sourcing, selection, interviewing, reference checks and hiring documentation; to ensure the most highly qualified and best-suited candidates and selected for all positions.
Onboarding of qualified candidates that align with the CBE workforce strategies and the Three Year Education Plan;
Maintaining school and service unit allocation files in adherence with guidelines and procedures;
Participating collaboratively as a member of the Talent Management Team through effective communication and seamless teamwork;
Providing professional and accurate customer service and information to the organization and applicants with regard to the staffing recruitment processes and procedures while maintaining a strict level of confidentiality in all staffing related matters; in compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) legislation and HR policies;
Demonstrating a strong understanding of Human Resource practices and processes;
Presenting concepts and expressing ideas clearly in individual or group situations while listening receptively;
Building positive, productive relationships with co-workers and stakeholders;
Applying all CBE Collective Agreement and Terms and Conditions of Employment; and
Leveraging technology to support staffing and recruitment functions and capabilities.
The CBE understands the future of work is flexible. In this role, you are eligible to participate in a flexible work program that allows you to work remotely for up to three days a week. A minimum of two days must be in the office. At certain times, you maybe be required to work in the office more then 2 days per week based on operational requirements.
What will you do?
Responsibilities
Responsible for end to end recruitment process
Place qualified candidates in existing vacancies that meet the needs of the strategic staffing and recruitment plan.
Function as a resource; providing advice, guidance and counselling to applicants and leaders.
Assist in processing of layoffs, displacements and recalls
Assist with all the recruitment programs and strategies. Recommends and / or institutes changes in procedures to improve productivity and proficiency of work.
Post job advertisements on job boards and tracks posting status and results.
Attend Job Fairs and actively participate in internal recruitment sessions.
Solicit and document hiring manager and candidate feedback throughout the recruitment process
Maintain timely documentation within the internal applicant tracking database.
Use networks to source candidates internally and externally.
Complete reference checks for candidate selection
Prepare and action reports, lists and other data as required by the Talent Management team.
Maintain current and up to date knowledge regarding all aspects of Talent
Acquisition Management system, Candidate Gateway and collective agreement provisions.Assist in the preparation, organization and presentation of staffing and recruitment training and information workshops offered to the system.
Recruitment of casual rosters to ensure adequate coverage for absences
Assist with the administration of Professional Improvement Fellowships (PIFs). May reconcile accounting records for PIF reporting. Process PIF expenditures and update accounts as necessary.
Perform other related responsibilities as assigned to meet the purpose and accountabilities of the role.
What are we looking for?
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Minimum completion of a post–secondary certificate in the discipline of Human Resources or equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered;
A minimum of three years related experience, preferably in a large multi-union organization;
Demonstrated knowledge and application of integrated human resource information systems, like PeopleSoft.
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies
Contribute to the achievement of strategic outcomes as they relate to the CBE Three Year Education Plan and the service unit or department. Decisions or recommendations reflect a balance of high professional standards, best practice, and understanding of unique CBE requirements.
Stay up to date in field and is able to apply innovative solutions as appropriate.
Excellence in communication, including writing, presenting and active listening skills. Comfortable dealing with confrontation and diffusing conflict without alienating others.
Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and familiarity with functionality and operations of PeopleSoft or other full service HRMS technologies.
Results driven, while being aware of and responsive to client needs and requests.
Continuous improvement mindset.
Ability to manage expectations, prioritize work requests and communicate effectively.
Strength in data analysis with attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team orientated work setting of high volume workloads with multiple, tight and demanding timelines.
Personal suitability.
