The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) and Institute of Neurological Sciences (INS) are inviting applications for an exciting opportunity to join our team of Modality Lead Radiographers within the South West Sector of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
This post offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated radiographer to take a leading role in the delivery of Plain Film, Fluoroscopy, Theatre and Mobile Imaging services. The successful candidate will work across both the QEUH Major Trauma Centre and the Institute of Neurological Sciences, supporting a dynamic and forward-thinking imaging team.
You will work closely with the local management team to deliver a high-quality, patient-centred imaging service, while leading on staff development, training, and continuous quality improvement. The post operates within a cross-site rotational model, offering the chance to build extensive experience across both scheduled and unscheduled care pathways.

The South West Sector has a strong partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University, hosting over 90 student clinical placements each year in a supportive and innovative learning environment. You will collaborate with university partners and practice educators to maintain a high-quality training experience for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, while fostering ongoing professional development among staff.
Successful candidates will benefit from a comprehensive induction and structured training programme, designed to support progression and leadership growth within one of the UK’s most advanced imaging environments.

About Our Sites
- Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) – The largest acute hospital within NHSGGC and the designated Major Trauma Centre for the West of Scotland. Imaging services include 10 DR Plain Film rooms across two floors, 2 Fluoroscopy units, 10 Mobile Image Intensifiers, and 6 Mobile X-ray units.
- Institute of Neurological Sciences (INS) – A leading tertiary referral centre providing regional support for neurology, neurosurgery, and the National Spinal Injuries Service, and serving as the Thrombectomy Centre for the West of Scotland. Facilities include 1 DR Plain Film room, 1 Oral and Maxillofacial room (equipped with OPT and Cephalometric imaging), 3 Mobile Image Intensifiers, and 3 Mobile X-ray units.
