Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Specialty Services & Coordination (SSC) within Emergency Response Services (ERS) provides a variety of clinical and support services across acute, community and long-term care settings including in critical care, emergency medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, surgery, rehabilitation/geriatrics, child health, anesthesia, women’s health, long-term care (including personal care homes), community services and agencies, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders and patient transportation service agencies to serve the provincial population.
- Oversee and deliver a centralized scheduling support and service for Emergency Response Services (ERS) across the province.
- Support ERS operations by overseeing the scheduling of provincial paramedical staff in their daily duties to safely and sustainably cover 24-hour-a-day and 7-day-a-week work requirements every day of the year.
Experience
- 3 years of experience working with complex scheduling rotations, timekeeping and/or payroll systems (e.g. ESP, SAP, QHR).
- 3 years of experience providing shift scheduling support including applying and working within the guidelines of collective bargaining agreement(s).
- 2 years of administrative experience working within an office setting.
- Previous experience in health-care planning and delivery is an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Post-secondary certificate in business administration, office management, or payroll administration from an accredited education institution is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Demonstrated front-line leadership capabilities. The provincial health system has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
- Interruptions from key stakeholders are common; dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled.
- Regular travel throughout the service area requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle.
