Your Opportunity:
Chinook Regional Hospital (CRH) is a warm and vibrant workplace with team members providing service to patients and their families in inpatient units and ambulatory clinics. The Physiotherapist I, as part of CRH site wide PT Services, ensures the level of clinical practice on their assigned clinical service area is family/client-centered and meets PT clinical standards of practice. The successful candidate will join the ambulatory (outpatient) physiotherapy team, serving clients in the areas of general MSK, neuro, and Plastics Rehabilitation (hand therapy) for clients who require post-surgical/post-fracture/post-injury rehabilitation. The physiotherapist will provide assessment, therapeutic interventions, which may include wound care and custom splinting, client education and exercise instruction, and coordination of care to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence. As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team; exhibit sound clinical reasoning, problem-solving skills and conflict resolution/negotiation; be organized in managing a consistent caseload; demonstrate initiative, adaptability and flexibility to meet varying clinical and operational needs; and demonstrate effective interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills. The successful candidate will receive guidance, mentoring and leadership appropriate to your level of experience. While this position will provide support to patients referred to physiotherapy in our ambulatory programs and clinic areas, the caseload for all positions within the CRH Physiotherapy team may be subject to change based on operational considerations.

As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience in the area of outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapy and pain conditions > 1 year is required. Successful candidate must be a motivated, confident and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude whose work aligns with AHS Values. Clarity in communication, both verbal and written, including clinical documentation, is required. Connect Care training and experience is preferred and will be required on hire. Successful candidate must be a reliable worker who uses time effectively and is able to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
