What You’ll Do
- Meet with families to understand their needs and guide them through the arrangement process.
- Design and lead meaningful visitations, funerals, and graveside services with professionalism and care.
- Ensure compliance with mortuary, health, and vital statistics regulations.
- Oversee event planning details, from music and flowers to memorial products and multimedia tributes.
- Lead ceremonies, supporting both families and service teams.
- Build relationships that foster trust and compassion, while also identifying opportunities for pre-need services.
- Helping families feel supported and understood during times of loss.
- Seeing details come together seamlessly to honor a loved one.
- Bringing calm leadership and organization to complex services.
- Balancing compassion with professionalism.
- Find it difficult to follow through on detailed, high-stakes responsibilities.
- Struggle to read the needs of families or adapt to sensitive situations.
- Prefer highly predictable, routine tasks over dynamic service planning and delivery.
- Current Ontario Funeral Director license.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
- Strong discernment and judgment skills.
- Tenacity and organizational ability to ensure flawless execution.
- Comfort with public speaking, leading ceremonies, and supporting families.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and funeral service software.
- Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Professional business attire required when serving families.
- Physical demands include standing/sitting for extended periods, lifting/pushing up to 150 lbs.
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends.
