Systems Analyst, Mobile at EPCOR
We are hiring 1 (one) full time, temporary Systems Analyst, Mobile position working out of Edmonton, AB for up to 12 months.
The Systems Analyst, Mobile provides technology expertise to the Application Services department and EPCOR as a whole. They are responsible for maintaining, operating and enhancing EPCOR’s custom mobile applications. The Systems Analyst, Mobile will provide usability focused solutions which delight our customers.What you’d be responsible for
Reporting to the Manager, Web & Mobile, you would be accountable for but not limited to:
- Acting as subject matter expert for EPCOR’s mobile and web applications and infrastructure.
- Understanding technical details of all applications in mobile and web team portfolios.
- Delivering optimal results against key operational metrics:
- Meeting incident response targets
- Estimating and delivering change requests
- Improving customer satisfaction scores
- Maintaining high system availability
- Driving process improvements
- Monitoring application performance and analyzing hardware and OS resource trends.
- Ensuring system reliability through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and change management.
- Providing mobile expertise to operational and project teams.
- Resolving customer issues efficiently using open communication and problem-solving.
- Abiding by all Application Services departmental policies and processes for the purpose of consistent support and administrative practices.
- Researching industry trends and recommending new technologies.
- Scheduling and executing production system deployments.
- Providing on-call support for all mobile applications.
- Completion of a Diploma in Computer Engineering, System Technology or Management Information Systems; or completion of a Degree in Computer Science or Engineering from a recognized post-secondary educational institute.
- 4-6 years of related experience in Web Operations and/or Development.
- Candidates possessing less than the required years of experience may be considered for a developmental position.
- Experience in Agile/SCRUM development using common programming languages, supporting large public-facing websites and intranets, and working with both technical and non-technical users.
- Experience in mobile technologies (MAUI.net, Xamarin), Azure Cloud services (e.g., Azure AD, Web Apps, Application Insights, Blob Storage, SQL Server, Functions, Cosmos DB), and pipeline tools (Jenkins, Octopus, Azure DevOps, ARM templates, PowerShell, YAML).
- Experience in web technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, MVC, .Net Core, ReactJS, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, Material UI, JavaScript, TypeScript.
- Experience working within large corporate environments and familiar with basic networking concepts such as load balancers, firewalls and domains.
- Experience implementing Progressive Web Applications would be considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of IT concepts with the ability to comfortably navigate across multiple tech stacks.
- Ability to design, develop, and unit test web solutions.
- Ability to diagnose, research, recommend, and implement solutions to production problems, including reacting with urgency to troubleshoot critical application availability issues.
- Ability to prioritize workload while remaining flexible and adaptable in dynamic environments.

Wage: Starting at $54.51 per hour; starting at $49.92 per hour for developmental IT1
- Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and are subject to change based on the ratification of the new Collective Agreement.
- If a candidate is hired at the developmental level, starting wage will be determined based on experience at the time of selection.
Hours of work: 75 hours biweekly
