Job Summary Printing Services is an Ancillary Services unit that provides cost effective, timely and high quality print-related services in support of Dalhousie’s teaching, learning and research activities. Reporting to the Manager of Printing Services, the Finance Clerk provides administrative financial support to the unit
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Dalhousie and NS Health order trackers for the production team, to include all necessary formatting for monthly upload and to allow for daily updating, sorting and reviewing for order status in each workflow by the production team.
  • Assign prices to NS Health orders and follow up with customers regarding orders sent with incomplete information or missing print files.
  • Prepare monthly feed upload files for internal Dalhousie customers, and summary billing files and invoices for external customers. Follow up on overdue invoices.
  • Review end of day reports from the cash register, payment card terminal, DalCard terminal, and eprint and enter information into monthly sales and deposit trackers.
  • Review supplier invoices and statements for accuracy, verify receipt of product and ensure payment in a timely manner.
  • Complete regular review of the unit’s financials, checking for discrepancies and resolving, escalating when necessary. Generate reports and calculate/compile business performance stats for Dalhousie and NS Health.

Note Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus
Required Qualifications
  • Business/Administrative Professional program with three to five years’ relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and other Microsoft programs.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Skills to multi-task, demonstrate initiative, work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, and the ability to adapt and prioritize tasks.


Assets
  • Experience working in the print industry.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks, or similar accounting software applications.
