This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 10 November 2025 and closing at 11:59 pm on 18 November 2025.

The Psychometrist provides psychological assessment and treatment to children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders and related mental health difficulties in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The Psychometrist provides ongoing psychological treatment to families and parents of children/adolescents and adults referred to the program, including:
" Performing psychological and biopsychosocial investigation and assessment including the selection, administration, scoring and interpretation of a variety of standardized and non-standardized assessment techniques; investigating and assessing behavioral disorders and psychophysiological dysfunctions through interviews, rating scales, physiological and observational methods to adults and children and adolescents with eating disorders and related mental health difficulties
" Proven working knowledge of the Mental Health Act of Ontario;
" Apply specialized psychological expertise in multiple treatment approaches and drive practice-based evidence to improve client and family/caregiver outcomes.
" Acting as therapist for assigned clients; providing case co-ordination; participating in the development and implementation of behavioral and psychotherapeutic treatment programs; utilizing techniques such as crisis intervention, individual/group/family therapy, behavior modification, vocational and educational programs, social/cognitive and coping life skills training, psychoeducational programs; identifying skills, strengths, resources and rehabilitation strategies.
" Educate, support and prepare clients and their families/caregivers for discharge/transition planning.
" Participating in community liaison and education services; providing consultation services to clients, relatives, professional associations, self help and other groups, mental health workers, psychiatrists and physicians both in the facility and in the community; participating in multidisciplinary teams, committees and task forces.
" Providing educational services including preparing and presenting lectures, demonstrations, and teaching conferences for students in psychology and other mental health disciplines; participating in the ongoing training and development of front line staff and students.
" Participating in psychological research projects related to the understanding of mental and behavioral disorders and the evaluation of diagnostic techniques and treatment programs by formulating methodology, collecting and analyzing data and preparing written reports; participating in program evaluation to identify shortcomings and recommend improvements.
" Work collaboratively with a large interdisciplinary health care team, participating in consultation, team meetings and discharge/transition planning processes.
" Participate in departmental initiatives and program-specific committees.
" Participate in the program planning and implementation initiatives and evaluation of the Eating Disorders Program, as appropriate.
" Responsible to recognize and report patient, staff, and environment safety issues, identify and implement preventative and corrective actions, within the scope of this role.
" Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
" Strong written and oral communication skills.
" Proficiency in the use of electronic platforms such as Microsoft Office, hospital documentation systems and other relevant technology
" Demonstrates commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
" Able to project a progressive, positive, professional image throughout the program, hospital and community;
" Proven working knowledge of the Mental Health Act of Ontario;
" The role requires services to be delivered in-person and when required, through virtual platforms, on-site is required.

QUALIFICATIONS
" Completion of a CPA/APA recognized Ph.D. degree program in Clinical or Health Psychology is required
" Related experience in adult and/or pediatric clinical-health psychology setting. Experience in treating patients with Eating Disorders is preferred.
" Registered and in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario for autonomous practice, or in application in process
" Experience in the delivery of evidence-based therapies such as Family Based Treatment (FBT) and Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) preferred.
" Excellent assessment, diagnostic and formulation skills for eating disorder patients
" Knowledge of research methodology, data collection and analysis an asset
" Ability to work in a dynamic, highly accountable inter-professional environment that is client centred
" Demonstrated skills in client and family/caregiver engagement, customizing treatment to the needs of clients and families/caregivers inclusive of trauma informed, culturally competent care and supporting families in all phases of treatment including preparing for transition and discharge.
" Experience with all aspects of measurement-based care is an asset.
" Have excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment are essential.
" Current CPR HCP is required
" Must have satisfactory performance record

The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
