Medicine Hat College is excited to invite applications for a rewarding opportunity as a part-time temporary instructor in our Social Work Diploma program. This is a part-time temporary position commences in January 2026 in the Yuill School of Health & Community Services.
A little about the role:
The Medicine Hat College Social Work Diploma is a generalist credential, and the successful candidate will be able to share their knowledge and expertise with our students in both onsite in-person and online delivery instruction for a range of courses pertaining to social work practice.
Responsibilities include preparing for and instructing assigned classes, practicum supervision, contributing to ongoing program review and development, and other faculty duties as assigned. The instructor will work as a member of the instructional team in preparing and guiding students to become professionals in the Social Work profession as well as contributing as a faculty member in the Yuill School of Health and Community Services. Faculty will also engage in all aspects of student and program success, including but not limited to, participating in program and college meetings and committees, and curriculum development. Experience in on-line and face to face formats would be an asset.

As a successful applicant you'll have:
- Master’s degree in social work
- Registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers
- Five years’ experience in the Social Work field
- Previous teaching experience is preferred
- Willingness to be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that focuses on student success and has a positive, appreciative and enthusiastic personality
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy
