As a Senior Compensation Advisor, you will manage annual performance reviews, incentive compensation plan (ICP) bonus, salary increase cycles, and total reward statements.
In this position, you will lead and coordinate job evaluation activities for union and non-unionized positions that align with PBC’s compensation philosophy and the Collective Agreement.
In this role, you will manage promotion processes and conduct compensation benchmarking across all role levels to maintain market competitive and internal equity.
As a Senior Compensation Advisor, you guide managers and employees through job analysis and evaluation processes, preparing rating packages and recommendations for the Joint Job Evaluation Committee (JJEC). You also partner with stakeholders to create, review, and update job description, ensuring clarity, alignment, and compliance with internal processes while advising on job design, factor ratings, and pay grades.
You will support the market review process by benchmarking non-unionized roles against external survey data, analyzing market trends, identifying pay gaps, and recommending salary structure adjustments to ensure competitiveness, equity, and alignment with PBC’s pay philosophy.
This position conducts training on job evaluation, incentive plans, and performance review programs.
The Senior Compensation Advisor will ensure compliance with pay regulations (e.g. Pay Transparency Act) and analyze internal equity and market data to recommend fair and competitive pay decisions.
You would partner with the Finance team on compensation budgeting and forecasting activities.

- We are searching for a permanent Senior Compensation Advisor to join our Human Resources team.
- PBCs compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is $95,400 - $120, 000 per year; the base pay offered is based on market and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. The starting salary will be determined based on a combination of skills, education, and experience.

Key Experiences You Bring To This Role
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 5 to 7 years of progressive compensation experience, preferably in a complex unionized environment.
- Proficiency with compensation survey tools, HRIS systems (e.g., Workday), and Excel (i.e., pivot tables, formulas, modelling).
- Expertise in job evaluation (point factor & market pricing), salary structure design, budgeting, and incentive pay modelling.
- Solid understanding of compensation legislation, collective agreements, point factor system and market survey methodologies.
- Experience using and maintaining compensation and performance administration system. Experience with Workday HCM will be an asset.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation (or working towards) is preferred.
