Join Aecon as a Wireless Telecommunications Superintendent for our Telecom division, reporting to the General Manager.
The Wireless Telecommunications Superintendent will oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of wireless telecommunications systems. This role involves, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of projects managing a team.

The Wireless Telecommunications Superintendent will oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of wireless telecommunications systems. This role involves, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of projects managing a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the wireless telecommunications team.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee the installation and maintenance of wireless communication systems, including towers, antennas, and related equipment.
- Develop, maintain, and drive the construction schedule in conjunction with project team; ensure project milestones and completion dates are met
- Conduct site meets with the City/Municipality for road occupancy permits and with locators to ensure correct areas are being marked
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Capable of anticipating constructability issues in complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule
- Facilitation and mentoring skills; is able to move the team forward and resolve conflict situations as they arise
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to wireless telecommunications systems.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including reports, logs, and documentation.
- Provide training and support to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, resources, and timelines.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- A track record of building successful teams and promoting teamwork through motivating, coaching, and consensus-building
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in wireless telecommunications, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of wireless communication systems, including LTE, 5G, and microwave technologies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using telecommunications software and tools.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
- Site based position
- Travel to various project sites required
- This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions
