Founded in 1901, Hillfield Strathallan College (HSC) offers a seamless academic journey from 18 months to 18 years. Located on a 50-acre campus on Hamilton's West Mountain, HSC provides a unique educational pathway for students through four school offerings: Junior, Montessori, Middle and Senior. HSC prepares students to live with purpose – to understand their world, inspire, lead, act and make a difference in their own unique ways.

Hillfield Strathallan College is currently recruiting for the following:

  • Grade 5 Teacher - LTO beginning middle of January until end of June 2026.

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Principal of the Middle School, the teacher is responsible for:

  • Exploring and promoting research-based best practices in short and long term curriculum planning

  • Lesson delivery and differentiation

  • Evaluation, assessment and documentation of student progress and learning outcomes

  • Communicating with parents of students

  • Applying appropriate and current teaching methodologies

  • Implementation and integration of instructional technology

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues

  • Middle School duties and contribution to the extracurricular life of the College





Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in English, Humanities and/or Physical Education or related disciplines.

  • An Ontario Teachers’ Certificate or equivalent and Honours Specialist qualifications.

  • An AQ in Physical Education, or related experience/education considered an asset

  • A minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience.

  • May be required to teach other subjects.

  • The ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
