Plant Operator, Oxygen Plant at Air Liquide

Air Liquide is seeking a full-time Plant Operator for our 35-tonne Oxygen Plant at the Cariboo Pulp Mill. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations and ensure proper plant maintenance and functioning.Responsibilities:
Uphold Air Liquide’s safety standards and practices.
Operate the vacuum separation adsorption (VSA) process, ensuring safe start-up, operation, and shut-down.
Comply with Air Liquide Canada/AMG management system procedures.
Conduct plant performance tests as required.
Oversee and perform equipment maintenance, including annual turnaround activities.
Recommend improvements based on equipment observations and ensure periodic monitoring.
Demonstrate familiarity with industrial gas properties and oxygen service cleaning methods.
Supervise subcontractors as needed and respond to equipment breakdowns.
Undertake small maintenance projects with supervisor approval.
Troubleshoot equipment issues.
Collaborate with multi-functional teams on process improvement, analyze plant activities, identify problem causes, and implement corrective measures.
Adhere to lock-out and safe work procedures.
Participate in maintaining plant emergency procedures, act as a first responder where applicable, and initiate appropriate communications.
Report safety issues to the supervisor.
Know and comply with all procedures in the plant's Quality Manual.
Complete daily production reviews, equipment rounds, HSE, and other regulatory inspections.

Requirements:
Minimum 3-5 Years Of Industrial Experience.
High school diploma with relevant experience, or a college diploma in a relevant field (e.g., electrician, instrumentation, industrial mechanic).
Power engineering, electrical, refrigeration, or instrumentation ticket is an asset.
Strong mechanical aptitude, and hands-on experience with tools
Work independently and under pressure. Strong communication skills.
Knowledge: Previous experience with facility operations and CMMS (Maximo/SAP), rotating equipment troubleshooting, low/high-pressure gas systems. Knowledge of cryogenic, refrigeration, and/or other operations experience is a strong asset. Proficiency with computerized systems, MS Office, Google Suite.
Problem-Solving: Proactively investigate and identify problem situations, develop and analyze alternative solutions, and prioritize and implement effective actions..
Planning skills: Organize contractor schedules and oversee the safe execution of work under the Air Liquide Management System.
Availability: Required to be on-call for plant emergencies, including evenings and weekends.
