Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Set-Up / PDI Technician to join our team in Winnipeg. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, preparing, and inspecting new equipment prior to delivery to customers. This role ensures that all machinery meets the manufacturer's specifications and the company's quality standards before release.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble new equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
  • Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) to ensure all units are fully functional, clean, and safe before delivery.
  • Install accessories, options, and upgrades as required.
  • Verify fluid levels, calibrate settings, and ensure all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems are operating properly.
  • Conduct test runs and operational checks to confirm performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Complete and submit detailed setup and inspection reports.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of parts used and work performed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Service and Sales teams to meet delivery timelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following OH&S standards.
  • Identify and report any product issues or defects to the Service Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with agricultural, construction, or heavy equipment assembly preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellent work.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and setup instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and effectively.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in various positions, including kneeling, crouching, and climbing on and off machinery.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily shop-based role with occasional outdoor work.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and mechanical hazards typical of a service shop environment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
  • Work hours may vary depending on seasonal demand and equipment delivery schedules.
  • Team-oriented environment with collaboration between Service, Sales, and Parts departments.
