Purpose:
This position is responsible for the management and reporting of financial information, including analyzing data, preparing financial reconciliations, tax returns, and accounting records.

Job Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations
- Manage day-to-day banking and cash management activities.
- Reconcile bank accounts, loan accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
- Process month-end and year-end journal entries and closing activities.
- Prepare and record payroll-related journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts (wages, benefits, and statutory deductions).
- Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Assets sub-ledger; track capital projects and update continuity schedules.
- Prepare intercompany reconciliations, identify mismatches, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Compliance & Tax
- File monthly sales tax returns and analyze related accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Prepare and submit required filings to Statistics Canada (StatCan) in accordance with reporting requirements and deadlines.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and coordinating responses.
Process Improvement & Controls
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
- Streamline accounting functions and operations using financial systems and automation tools.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial processes align with business objectives.
- Communicate regularly with banks, credit card service providers, and external auditors.
Other Duties
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
- Support finance-related projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in full-cycle accounting, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
- Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP).
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation or enrollment in the CPA program is considered an asset.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Curious open minded problem solver.
- Skilled at both leading and executing detailed analysis.
- Collaborative communicator with the ability to communicate outside of finance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
