Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Investment Analyst/Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a high energy and self-starting individual with a passion for critical thinking and financial/risk analysis, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth underwriting and due diligence on new credit opportunities, including financial modelling, valuation stress-testing, industry/peer analysis, and financial covenant structuring;
- Assist in preparing investment memorandums, outlining key risks, mitigants, return drivers and recommendations;
- Support deal execution from term sheet through closing, including structuring, documentation, and coordination with external counsel and sponsor counterparties;
- Monitor portfolio investments, including reviewing financial performance, covenant compliance, ongoing risk assessments or value-creation opportunities;
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including originators, legal counsel, and management teams; and,
- Support capital-formation and investor-reporting initiatives by preparing fund/vehicle performance analytics, and external marketing materials for various stakeholders.
Qualifications/Core Competencies:
- Success in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, with a quantitative focus;
- Professional designations such as CFA or CPA are considered an asset;
- 1-4 years of relevant work experience including Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Private Equity, Private Credit, or other capital markets roles;
- Excellent organizational, analytical, financial modelling, and communication skills;
- Ability to prioritize effectively and adapt to changing tasks in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong decision-making and critical thinking capabilities under pressure; and,
- Desire to be a team player in a high-performance open office environment.
