Purpose:
We are currently recruiting for a Manager II, Procurement Contracts. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Markham, Ontario.
Responsibilities:
- Manage contracting department team members, manages and direct work directly.
- Completes contract assignments for all phases of contractual undertakings.
- Completed prime contract flowdowns as required by Projects.
- Ability to recognize and resolve conflict.
- Advanced understanding of systems, processes and tools related to field.
- Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues.
- Ability to visualize and design new concepts and ideas related to functional area of expertise; Broad knowledge of business operations and ability to implement and sometimes lead organizational change effectively; Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information.
- The ability to effectively communicate and present complex program proposals and reports to executive level management is critical. Ability to persuade and influence others is critical. Participative management style with a cooperative team approach. Proven leadership skills in multi-cultural and possibly multi-national environments. Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Contracting Plan and strategy development for large/mega Projects.
- Manages all contract activity for customer potentially on multiple Projects. Travel to the customer office or to the project site may be required, either before the contract receives final approval or during the life of the contract.
- Ensures accuracy and timeliness of contract administration. Coordinates with affected groups to ensure proper support in contract administration, proposal preparation, and in negotiations.
- Reviews requests for proposals particularly to identify risks and terms which may not conform to Company policy.
- Negotiates the more difficult, complex, or sensitive issues with customer management.
- Formulating and issuing construction contracts of all sizes and work scopes work scopes.
- Pre-qualifying and preparing lists of bidders, Receiving and evaluating bid, preparing contacts and bid documents.
- Interviewing contractors and potential contractors and making appropriate recommendations.
- Preparing commercial summaries and letters of recommendation, posting awards, administering contracts (correspondence, progress minutes, filing, change management, and performance measurement), monitoring contractors' performance and conformance to commercial terms, and approving progress invoices.
- Communicating with customer to secure approvals in accordance with established procedures. Interacting with engineering and construction departments to comply with terms, revisions and amendments.
- Participating in contract termination, claims or dispute settlements according to delegated authority, conducting close out review and processing back changes.
What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Mid-level relevant experience including supervisory, project management and/or technical experience.
- Experience working with large EPCM Projects, mining scope of work and managing mining contractors.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
- BA/BS degree in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent or relevant experience.
