This is a permanent, full-time position with the Corporate Services Department.Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position is responsible for:
- Completing internal and external recruitment tasks such as:
- Creating internal and external job postings, collecting and processing new candidate applications
- Assisting with interview scheduling, facilitation, and creation of interview packages
- Submitting reference checks
- Offer creation and distribution
- Updating applicant tracking systems and spreadsheets
- Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations and assist with new employee onboarding
- Maintain employee file system
- Create swipe access cards for employees and contractors
- Update City-wide documents such as phone directory, organizational charts
- Process name tag and business card order requests
- Interpret and monitor the collective agreement rules and regulations regarding policies and issues
- Identify potential gaps in current HR policies and procedures
- Research related to collective agreements, legislation, and other projects as required
Qualifications & Competencies
- Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in a Municipality or Government setting
- Knowledge of the Alberta Employment Standards Code
- Strong computer and organizational skills
- Ability to present to small and large groups
- Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
