Job Purpose & Responsibilities

This is a permanent, full-time position with the Corporate Services Department.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position is responsible for:
  • Completing internal and external recruitment tasks such as:
  • Creating internal and external job postings, collecting and processing new candidate applications
  • Assisting with interview scheduling, facilitation, and creation of interview packages
  • Submitting reference checks
  • Offer creation and distribution
  • Updating applicant tracking systems and spreadsheets
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations and assist with new employee onboarding
  • Maintain employee file system
  • Create swipe access cards for employees and contractors
  • Update City-wide documents such as phone directory, organizational charts
  • Process name tag and business card order requests
  • Interpret and monitor the collective agreement rules and regulations regarding policies and issues
  • Identify potential gaps in current HR policies and procedures
  • Research related to collective agreements, legislation, and other projects as required

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in a Municipality or Government setting
  • Knowledge of the Alberta Employment Standards Code
  • Strong computer and organizational skills
  • Ability to present to small and large groups
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check

More Details

This position is Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for 35 hours per week
