Intern, Car Productivity

This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026.

Job Summary

The Intern, Car Productivity is responsible for improving information management by automating reports and business processes. The role allows the selected individual to explore the many dimensions of Railcar ownership, equipment rents, and utilization.

During the internship, the manager provides guidance and expertise throughout to ensure successful implementation of these projects. The incumbent uses their initiative and communication skills and drives for continuous improvement to ensure the project achieves the agreed upon milestones.

Major Responsibilities

  • Design Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) dashboards in Power BI
  • Collaborate with the different managers on the metrics for their programs and where the data is housed
  • Collect the KPIs data from multiple platforms for dashboarding and Power BI
  • Support moving existing reports to Power BI
  • Train defined team on the use and maintenance of the dashboard
  • Prepare training material to support users in dashboard use and maintenance
  • Complete stakeholder analysis to determine user needs
  • Participate in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to aid in project development, performance evaluation, and regulatory compliance
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal teams
  • Engage in cross-functional teamwork, sharing insights, and proposing innovative solutions to address challenges
  • Adhere to safety protocols, company policies, and industry standards throughout the internship

Requirements

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerBI
  • Advanced knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Looks for opportunities for continuous improvement and takes initiative
  • Proficiency in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to approach challenges creatively
  • Initiative and eagerness to learn from industry professionals and contribute to projects
  • Experience through internships or coursework related to the field*
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Tableau*
  • Fluently bilingual, written and verbal (English, French)*
  • Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset

Education

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Operations Management, Business, Information and Technology Management, or Business Technology Management
