The Nutritionist for Livestock Animals plays a critical role in supporting the health, productivity, and welfare of livestock by developing and optimizing feed formulations. Working within a multidisciplinary team, this position focuses on research, analysis, and practical application of animal nutrition science to ensure balanced, cost-effective, and high-quality feed solutions tailored for cattle, swine, poultry, and other livestock species.

The Nutritionist for Livestock Animals plays a critical role in supporting the health, productivity, and welfare of livestock by developing and optimizing feed formulations. Working within a multidisciplinary team, this position focuses on research, analysis, and practical application of animal nutrition science to ensure balanced, cost-effective, and high-quality feed solutions tailored for cattle, swine, poultry, and other livestock species.
YOUR ROLE
- Develop and adjust feed formulations for various livestock species, ensuring nutritional adequacy and compliance with regulatory standards;
- Conduct ingredient analyses and evaluate nutrient profiles using laboratory and field data;
- Collaborate with veterinarians, farm managers, and suppliers to optimize feeding programs and address animal health concerns;
- Monitor and interpret feed trial results; recommend improvements based on performance metrics such as growth rates, feed conversion ratios, and health indicators;
- Stay informed on current research, industry trends, and regulatory changes affecting livestock nutrition and feed formulation;
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders;
- Support quality control processes for feed production, including sampling, testing, and troubleshooting;
- Participate in on-farm visits to assess feeding practices and provide guidance to producers;
- Assist in developing educational materials and training sessions for staff and clients.
YOUR ASSETS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Animal Science, Nutrition, Agricultural Science, or a related field;
- Experience in livestock nutrition and feed formulation is preferred;
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills;
- Proficiency with formulation software and laboratory equipment is an asset;
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work collaboratively and independently;
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for farm visits and industry events.
