Valiant TMS, a global industry leader, is looking for a dynamic Proposal Estimator – Controls to join our Automation and Assembly division. If you are eager to be a part of a talented team and contribute to the development of customized equipment, including Battery Tray Assembly and Battery Assembly and Test Systems, Leak Test Equipment, Industrial Parts Washers, and Material Handling Automation, then this opportunity is for you!
What you will get to do
- Prepare complete controls engineering and controls build cost estimates for all related electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, logic, programming and design controls according to customer specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather essential information, guaranteeing alignment with project scopes.
- Attend strategic customer and internal meetings to fully grasp each project’s nuances, driving the success of our project proposals and costing.
- Coordinate with the lead mechanical proposal estimator to develop proposed system controls architecture templates.
- Solicit component costs and maintain an up-to-date supplier cost database with the Purchasing team using SAP.
- Assist in developing new products, existing product improvements, and standards in proposal and costing.
- Line up controls design sources to obtain competitive design quotes if required.
- Maintain a tracking system for all changes (ECNs) or utilize CATS II as the approved format.
What we are looking for
- Experience: In cost estimating and formulating written proposals for controls in automation and assembly systems. A background in controls and machine tool build is an asset.
- Qualifications: A degree or diploma in an applied technology (Mechanical or Electrical) or proven experience as a proposal and estimator in controls.
- Skills:
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic logic, programming and design controls in automation.
- Extensive knowledge in Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC Controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining high attention to detail and a strong ability to adapt to changing project requirements and customer needs.
- Customer-Focused Mindset: Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into competitive proposals.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment within various departments.
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada, with the ability to travel outside of Canada.
