- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources
- Experience working in a unionized environment an asset
- Knowledge of employment-related legislation including the Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and Workplace Safety and Insurance Act
- Ability to recognize when collective agreement language may apply and triage or escalate appropriately
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Human Resources Information Systems, and Learning Management Systems
- Strong organization, communication, and multi-tasking skills
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with tact and professionalis
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to adapt in a changing environment
- Collaborative team player committed to service excellence
- Willingness to travel to head office, field offices, campus networking events, job fairs across Ontario as needed
- Experience with ERP/HRIS systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft, or similar
- Experience with applicant tracking systems and e-learning editing tools
- Act as the first point of contact for general HR inquiries, providing timely and accurate information or escalating as appropriate
- Provide coordination and administration support across multiple HR programs, including (but not limited to) talent, recruitment, learning, organizational development, total rewards, wellness, employee relations, workforce analytics, health and safety and disability management;
- Maintain accurate employee data and HR documentation in multiple systems
- Coordinate cyclical HR processes in support of the HR Shared Services and Centres of Expertise
- Support HR programs and decision-making through HR administration of HR policies, procedures, guidelines, processes, tools and resources
- Support delivery of HR communications, intranet content updates, and process documentation
- Track service metrics and contribute to process improvements
- Assist with invoice tracking, contract logs, and vendor coordination
