Supply Chain Management Clerk - University Hospital Perioperative Care

The Supply Chain Management Clerk is responsible for ordering and receiving Healthcare Material Management Services (HMMS) stock and non-stock items and supplying departments with the supplies and equipment required to carry out patient care. In order to achieve this goal, the Supply Chain Management Clerk orders supplies and equipment, manages inventory, and tracks utilization patterns. The job is responsible for connecting with vendors for repair of equipment and sourcing replacement alternatives for backordered items.

Temporary Full-Time

Rate of Pay: $31.62 per hour - $39.52 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.50 hours per week

Duration: Up to 12 months

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a high school diploma
  • Successful completion of an Inventory Management or Heath Care Office Assistant Certificate preferred
  • Courses in Medical Terminology preferred
  • Up to one (1) year of recent, related experience, three (3) years recent, related experience preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years recent experience in an Operating Room supportive role, preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with records maintenance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Recent working experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office computer skills including: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated proficient communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Effective organizational skills involving time management, prioritization and the ability to problem solve while ensuring attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work well and independently with minimum supervision in a team environment
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose, and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
