Casino Dene in Cold Lake, Alberta is hiring a Part-Time Soft Count Clerk to support our Finance Department with the secure and accurate counting of slot and kiosk currency.

Position Summary

The Soft Count Clerk is responsible for the secure handling, counting, and reconciliation of currency pulled from slot machines and TITO redemption kiosks. This role requires a high level of accuracy, integrity, and adherence to all Casino Dene and AGLC regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Count currency from slot terminals and TITO kiosks following established procedures
  • Reconcile daily paperwork, count sheets, and associated documentation
  • Identify and report suspected counterfeit currency
  • Perform daily maintenance on Cummins bill counters
  • Prepare internal and external deposits with a high degree of accuracy
  • Maintain secure handling of large amounts of cash at all times
  • Complete computer data entry related to count processes
  • Submit required paperwork to the Finance Manager in a timely manner
  • Monitor and report safety or security concerns within the count room
  • Follow all Casino Dene policies, AGLC regulations, and AML requirements
  • Perform other finance or count room duties as assigned


Qualifications & Requirements


  • High school diploma (asset)
  • Must be able to register with AGLC
  • Must complete the AGLC Anti-Money Laundering (AML) certificate and submit it to Management/HR before the start date
  • Must provide a Criminal Record Check before the start date
  • Large cash-handling or banking experience (asset)
  • Previous count room or casino experience (asset)
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment
  • Ability to work early mornings
  • Must be able to work 5 shifts per week
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Comfortable working in a secure, structured, and procedure-driven environment
  • Physically able to perform repetitive tasks and sit/stand for extended periods
