Job Description

The Quality Assurance Coordinator will report to the Senior Manager Quality Assurance. This role supports systems in place to ensure conformance of the system to ISO 9001 requirements. This role works closely with various teams within the Program Management Office, Engineering & Planning, Operations, Supply Chain and Finance.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.

What You’ll Do

  • Support maintenance and improvement of the company’s quality management system (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
  • Collaborate with the coordination of audits schedules, documentation, and files to support the auditors and capture external audits.
  • Manage the quality nonconformances and their process for VSY, including coordination of report and follow up with interested parties, providing support documenting the issues in our electronic system when necessary.
  • Coordinate with QA specialists to support the supplier management process, scheduling review meetings, and coordinating with internal groups as needed.
  • Manage and maintain the document control process and system, involving procedures, work instructions, and quality records, to support the QMS.
  • Train employees in quality practices, procedures, and policies to ensure a consistent understanding and application across the organization and promote quality-focused culture within the organization.
  • Collaborate with the monitoring and reporting on quality performance metrics to senior management, and other groups.
  • Coordinate the administration of the management of change process.
  • Support the management of the Quality SharePoint page, files repository location, and communications.
  • Promote quality improvements within the team and other functions.


What You’ll Bring

  • Proven work experience as a Quality Coordinator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well in teams and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Practical experience in quality assurance or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in business administration, quality management, quality assurance, operations management, quality auditing, organizational excellence, etc.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify quality issues and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure all operations conform to the set quality standards and regulations.
  • Outstanding communication skills to relay quality policies and procedures to the team, as well as communicate with interested parties about quality issues and resolutions.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure collaboration and quality processes’ effectiveness.
  • Strong initiative attitude and innovation skills to drive process improvement in Quality and other areas.
  • Practical knowledge of quality standards.
  • Customer service skills, understanding internal customers’ needs and expectations.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize duties, and ensure timely completion of quality assurance projects.
  • Ability to see the big picture and understand how to tailor quality to our company and culture.

The estimated salary for this position is $73,800- $90,200. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
