Overview
As part of a new long-term construction project for the modernization of the Isle-Maligne Power Plant in Alma, we are seeking a Construction Site Health and Safety Coordinator (CoSS). You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the client's general contractor prevention program, safety initiatives, and applicable health and safety legislation on site.

Your role
- Providing visible leadership in health and safety by fostering engagement, collaboration, and promoting best practices.
- Coaching and supporting the construction team in various contexts focused on operational accountability.
- Leading HSE meetings and information sessions within the group or specific work teams.
- Conducting safety meetings and worker onboarding.
- Using the Enablon HSE management platform (web and mobile applications).
- Performing various joint inspections during work (sites and equipment) to ensure safety requirements are met.
- Contributing to high standards of health and safety in work execution.
- Cooperating during visits from CNESST and other agencies that may come to the site.
- Conducting subcontractor compliance audits.
- Supporting and advising all directors, managers, consultants, and other project stakeholders regarding conduct, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
- Promoting awareness of occupational health and safety requirements and values.
- Adhering to all AtkinsRéalis and client HSE policies and procedures.
- Advising and supporting project stakeholders in the proper use of HSE program tools and contributing to high standards of health and safety.
- Promoting and valuing best environmental practices in collaboration with your environmental advisor, who is integrated into the prevention team.
- Being an effective and relevant contributor within the site's'Health, Safety and Environment team.
- Fluent in French (spoken and written).
- 10 to 15 years of experience in construction safety (proven experience in power plants is a strong asset).
- Proven experience working above or on water bodies, including diving.
- Experience in accident investigation and analysis (TapRoot/Essential Factors or ICAM are assets), as well as workplace inspections.
- Experience implementing robust HSE programs and ease in organizational support and cultural evolution in health and safety.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable HSE laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in computer applications and other technologies (basic Office suite, Enablon, Forwood, mobile apps, etc.).
- Possession of a CNESST-issued safety officer or construction site HSE coordinator certification (mandatory).
- Strong willingness to learn, positive and constructive attitude, dynamism, autonomy, rigor, proactivity, and strong ability to work in a team and manage multiple files simultaneously.
