Overview

Your Role

  • Prepare planning documents, cost estimation reports, and related documentation.
  • Develop investment cost estimates for all estimate categories, including order of magnitude, pre-feasibility, feasibility, and final estimates.
  • Be able to perform multidisciplinary estimates.
  • Develop labor rates and productivity factors.
  • Evaluate bids and pricing from contractors and manufacturers, including performing control evaluations.
  • Understand work breakdown structures (WBS) and product coding systems.
  • Understand change management principles.
  • Perform trend analyses.
  • Assess project contingencies and risks.
  • Work in an integrated, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Manage and manipulate large data sets.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

About You

  • Hold a college diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering or construction, or any other combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of experience as an estimator on industrial and/or building projects.
  • Ability to manage large-scale projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with estimating software.
  • Comfortable participating in "Systems" projects (electricity, communications, rail signaling, catenary, etc.).
