Position Summary
Looking for an experienced nursing leader for the Dawson Creek & District Hospital. If you are passionate about providing effective and efficient delivery of hospital services, please look into this position.Participates in and provides leadership within the Northeast Health Service Delivery Area (NEHSDA) for the development, implementation and evaluation of regional and NEHSDA Acute Health Care. This includes resource and program planning, service and human resource integration and monitoring and evaluation of these activity outcomes. Works cooperatively with medical staff, the senior management team and other key stakeholders to meet NHA and NEHSDA goals, benchmarks and Excellence in Rural Health. Represents North East Acute Care Services to the community, other health care agencies, government departments and professional organizations as opportunities occur.
Starting salary will be approximately from $116,591 to $145,739 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.
Dawson Creek & District Hospital Dawson Creek and District Hospital is a full service community hospital that provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 Acute Care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Dawson Creek is the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical centre for the Northeast Region of BC. Services include:

- Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dawson Creek Wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies surround Dawson Creek. The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000. There are eleven elementary schools, one middle school and one secondary school. The Northern Lights College provides adult education. Qualifications
- Master’s degree in health administration or a related discipline along with a degree in nursing and at least five (5) years experience in a leadership position responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of operational and strategic plans or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Eligibility for registration with RNABC required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of local and regional health issues.
- Knowledge of the change process.
- Knowledge of how to maintain focus in chaos.
- Knowledge and skills with computer applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
