Position Details The University of Lethbridge Caretaking Department requires the services of a qualified full-time Caretaking Supervisor to commence work in January 2026.

Under the supervision of the Caretaking Manager, this position offers supervision, guidance, and supports all Caretaking staff. This supervisory position will assign tasks to be completed. Duties also include training Caretakers and assigning work tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and attractive Campus for students, staff, and our community. This position is a working supervisor.

Duties include quality assurance inspections in assigned areas, assisting with supply inventory control, problem solving, and submitting work orders for repairs. This position will also help with setting up and mapping AI robots to help support caretaking staff work completion. The Caretaking department is responsible for all types of cleaning, concrete grinding and polishing, waste/recycling, pest control, residence apartment cleaning, and the Lux Hotel cleaning in the summer months.

Position Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Ability to work with minimal or no supervision
• A minimum of 5 years of prior related supervisory experience is preferred
• Knowledge of heavy-duty cleaning procedures and operation of cleaning equipment, including but not limited to, ladder use, lift use, and specialty equipment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer skills, particularly Word, Excel, and TEAMS
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the University community and the general public
• Certifications in WHMIS, first aid, and CPR would be an asset

Note: A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $4,576.00 - $5,114.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $4,576.00 - $5,652.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 9)
