Quails’ Gate Winery is seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented Cellar Hand to join our Winemaking Team. This is an integral role supporting all aspects of cellar operations, from fermentation management to barrel work, while ensuring cleanliness, accuracy, and safety across the winery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of cellar operations including fruit processing, fermentations, rackings, transfers, pump overs, punch downs, filtering, pressing, and barrel work
• Maintain winery and cellar hygiene to the highest standard
• Accurately record cellar operations, lab results, and equipment logs
• Perform sanitization of tanks and equipment
• Support tanker operations and ingredient additions
• Conduct lab analysis as required
• Carefully handle and maintain winery equipment, reporting any faults
• Supporting bottling and packing activities as directed
• Assist with stock counts and inventory tracking
• Support and coach seasonal staff, fostering a positive team culture
• Uphold Standard Operating Procedures and cellar safety practices

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of winery or chemistry experience
• Knowledge of cellar operating procedures and equipment
• Understanding of safe practices (confined spaces, ladders, elevated work areas)
• Forklift license an asset
• Experience in a laboratory and operating a bottling line highly regarded
• Physically fit and capable of lifting 50 lbs
• Strong teamwork skills with a positive work ethic
• Interest in developing leadership and coaching skills
• Computer literacy and ability to perform basic math
• Degree in wine science an asset but not required
