Reporting to the Manager, Systems Development & Integration, supporting Digital Regional Programs, Senior Integration Developer is part of DevOps team designing, developing and supporting healthcare systems integration solutions, using HL7 v2.x as well as emerging integration patterns such as FHIR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the entire cycle of interface development, including analysis, design, specification, implementation, go-live and support
  • Working with the team to diagnose and resolve interface-related issues, and participating in projects as needed
  • SQL server, SQL queries, data access optimization, database objects creation and optimization, experience with emerging NoSQL technologies is an asset
  • Coordinate activities involving multiple players, including vendors, subject matter experts, interface engine developers, and end users, to design, configure, and test interfaces.
  • Follow documentation, including adherence to consistent standards when documenting new and existing software solutions
  • Helps to improve the skills and capabilities of others and fosters their long-term learning and development through coaching and mentoring
  • Other duties as assigned based on organizational priorities
  • Participate in 24/7 call rotation to provide Incident support related to the Integration services.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Familiarity with eReferral workflows for Ontario is preferred.
  • Epic Bridges certification is required or travel to USA might be required for certification
  • Knowledge of HL7 FHIR standards is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft BizTalk Server is an asset
  • College Diploma (3 years program), Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing interfaces and integration solutions using Epic Bridges and familiar with Epic Interconnect Infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of the .NET 3.5/4.0/4.5 Framework, including Visual Studio 2017/2022, C#, ASP.NET is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)/Azure DevOps
  • Familiar with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, deployment
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) integration patterns in Healthcare environment
  • Hands-on knowledge of Health Level 7 (HL7 v2.x), eXtensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT) and Extensive Markup Language (XML) messaging standards and structures is required.
  • Working knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • Must have the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations.
  • Ability to work with teams to achieve goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
