The Team
The Global Risk and Treasury Technology team provides development and support services for Group Treasury (including Structural Interest Rate Risk management, Asset/Liability Management, Funds Transfer Pricing, Liquidity Risk, Stress Testing) and Global Risk Management (Global Retail/Corporate/Commercial Credit Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, Operational/Non-Operational Risk Management).
The Role
- We are looking for a Data Engineer with a foundational understanding of Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and a strong interest in financial data domains. This role will support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and contribute to data integration efforts across finance and treasury systems. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and passionate about working in a data-driven financial environment.
- Assist in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, and BigQuery.
- Support data integration and transformation tasks across Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, and GCP BigQuery.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Help monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Participate in data quality checks, documentation, and version control practices.
- Contribute to projects involving financial data such as cash flow, liquidity, general ledger, and regulatory reporting.
We’d love to work with you if you have
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, or a related field (internships or co-op experience welcome).
- Basic proficiency in SQL and familiarity with SQL Server or Azure SQL Database.
- Exposure to Azure Data Factory, BigQuery, or other cloud-based data tools.
- Understanding of data concepts such as ETL, data modeling, and data warehousing.
- Interest or academic background in finance, accounting, or treasury operations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Experience with SSIS, Databricks, or Python for data processing.
- Familiarity with financial systems or reporting tools.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or GCP) through coursework or certifications.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
