About the role
We are seeking experienced Orthopaedic Surgeons to join our dynamic teams across New Zealand.
In this role, you will:
- provide comprehensive orthopaedic care, including consultation, diagnosis, and management of general orthopaedic, trauma, and arthroplasty cases
- collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including Orthopaedic Surgeons, sub-specialty Fellows, Registrars, House Officers, Nursing staff and Allied Health professionals
- provide teaching and mentorship to junior doctors and medical students
- lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives, staying abreast of advancements in orthopaedic care and introducing innovative practices to our departments.

Sub-specialty interests include ankle and foot, hip and knee arthroplasty, paediatrics, and sports surgery.

About you
To work as a Senior Medical Officer in New Zealand, you must:
- be eligible for, or currently hold, specialist registration within the scope of orthopaedics with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- hold appropriate postgraduate qualifications, such as FRACS or an equivalent international qualification.
You will have:
- proven expertise in both trauma and elective orthopaedic procedures
- a sub-specialty interest in areas such as upper limb arthroplasty, spine surgery, foot and ankle, or paediatrics
- a commitment to teamwork, patient-centred care, and continuous professional development.

Salary range
This role belongs to the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 $148K CAD ($185.4K NZD) and Step 15 $214K CAD ($267,980) per annum pro-rata. You may be eligible for extra allowances such as on-call.
