Program Coordinator & Connector - NORC at CHATS
Contract Duration: 7 Months| Full time - 35 hours per week | Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
We are currently seeking a passionate and community-minded NORC Program Coordinator & Connector to support the implementation and delivery of CHATS’ Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORC) framework.
The Role:
Reporting to Client Services Manager of Community Programs & Volunteers, you will be responsible to coordinate the implementation and delivery of CHATS’ Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORC) framework. This includes providing direct front-line Connector services to residents at designated sites. This role involves developing and managing both internal and external service delivery partnerships that align with the NORC framework and address the expressed needs of participants. A key focus of the position is to foster meaningful resident engagement and community involvement.
Full-time position - 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. with occasional work outside of business hours. Travel required within York Region & South Simcoe
Key responsibilities of the position:
- To provide coordination of CHATS NORC activities with the goal of ensuring efficient and effective implementation of the NORC Framework at identified sites and in collaboration with existing programs and community partners.
- To create a comprehensive engagement strategy that results in strong relationships with residents, families and community partners and ensures a collaborative approach to service delivery.
What you bring to the role:
- Diploma/degree in Social Service Work, Gerontology, Recreation, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience providing seniors’ community-based support services, including program development.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and coordinating community programs
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Strong understanding of local health, wellness, and social support resources.
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse population.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, Outlook, and database applications (e.g., GoldCare, Better Impact).
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Successful completion of a Food Handler’s Course.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Nice to have Functional Fitness certification or senior-focused exercise training.
- Fluency in French mor other languages, an asset.
