The location in Port Alberni, BC , is seeking talent to fill the position of Process Engineer.
This job is full-time and permanent.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Responsible for continually looking at ways to improve quality and operations.
- Identify areas that need process control optimization.
- Evaluating the efficiency of manufacturing technologies, instruments, equipment, and tools.
- Driving process control innovation in collaboration with senior management.
- Is responsible for driving the process of machine optimization and will work as a member of a team to provide continuous improvement.
- Keeping process control within budget without compromising quality and efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Documenting processes and preparing progress reports.
- This position also provides technical support for the daily operation of the mill.
- New product development/grade specification.
- Oversee all control testing.
- Technology transfer.
- Ability to understand requirements and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in project management.
- Extensive industry specific process knowledge.
- Ability to prioritize, make sound decisions, and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
- Proven analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and time management skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the company.
- P. Eng degree is required.
- At least 3 years’ experience in control process engineering or related industry.
- Paper machine knowledge is an asset.
