Our client, a highly regarded general contractor in the National Capital Region, is looking for a Site Superintendent to take charge of an exciting new low‑rise project in Westboro, Ottawa.

Following significant growth in recent years, the company is now seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to support its projects in Ottawa. Description

As a Site Superintendent - Low/Mid-Rise, you will oversee a residential project (approximately 4 stories, 16 units).

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning, coordinating, and supervising all on‑site construction activities
• Maintaining the construction schedule and regularly communicating updates to subcontractors for effective management
• Leading and supervising subcontractor teams to ensure work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, standards, and applicable laws
• Setting priorities and directing subcontractors in line with project timelines
• Preparing change orders and obtaining management approval before implementation
• Managing budget impacts by adhering to decisions made by the director and/or project manager
• Monitoring work quality and ensuring deficiencies are promptly corrected
• Providing regular updates to the project director and/or project manager, including reporting delays or site issues
• Participating in site meetings and organizing coordination meetings with subcontractors
• Ensuring compliance with and implementation of the prevention program as well as occupational health and safety standards
• Preparing daily site reports and employee timesheets
• Performing other related duties as required

Profile

As a Site Superintendent - Low/Mid-Rise, you bring the following profile:

Professional Experience:

• 5-10 years of construction experience with a general contractor
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills
• Proven leadership abilities with a collaborative team spirit
• Professionalism, adaptability, and resourcefulness

Education and Training:

• College diploma in civil engineering or architecture (or equivalent relevant experience)
• Fully bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)
• Advanced ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• In‑depth knowledge of construction standards, codes, and regulations
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
