SENIOR ARCHITECT / ASSOCIATE

Toronto, ON

Compensation: $130-160K + Bonus

About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Architect / Associate to join our client's Toronto studio, specializing in complex transportation and aviation projects. This role is ideal for a seasoned architectural leader with experience delivering large-scale infrastructure, terminal upgrades, airport facilities, transit hubs, or related public-sector projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading multidisciplinary project teams, shaping design outcomes for high-impact transportation environments, and strengthening long-term client partnerships with airport authorities, transit agencies, and infrastructure stakeholders.

Responsibilities include overseeing concept and schematic design for aviation and transit facilities, managing project delivery across all phases, navigating regulatory and technical requirements unique to transportation sectors, mentoring intermediate and junior staff, and collaborating closely with clients, consultants, engineers, authorities having jurisdiction, and construction partners. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership maturity are essential.

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution; OAA Registration or eligibility required
  • 10+ years of architectural experience in Canada, with a strong portfolio in aviation, transportation, or large-scale public infrastructure
  • Proven experience leading complex, multi-phased projects from planning and early design through construction
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teams, coordinate consultants, and manage sophisticated stakeholder groups and client expectations
  • Business development capability, including participation in proposals, interviews, presentations, and relationship building with transportation and aviation clients
  • Excellent design sensibility supported by strong technical knowledge of Ontario Building Code, airport/transportation standards, building systems, and municipal + federal permitting processes
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and visualization tools (Enscape, Lumion, etc.)
  • Experience with BIM coordination on technical, large-scale projects is an asset
