Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Business Partner with a strong background in both in-house and search firm environments. This role leads full-cycle recruitment for corporate and international positions, builds strong relationships with business leaders, and drives proactive sourcing strategies. The successful candidate will also own and manage Seaspan’s Internship Program, developing a pipeline of early-career talent. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys consulting with business leaders, and brings 5–7 years of hands-on recruitment experience across multiple markets and functions.

Seaspan’s total compensation is based on our pay-for-performance philosophy that rewards team members who deliver on and demonstrate our high-performance culture. The hiring range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 CAD per annum. 8-10% contract completion bonus upon successful achievement of KPIs. The exact base salary offered will be commensurate with the incumbent’s experience, job-related skills and knowledge, and internal pay equity.

Job Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Business Partnership
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for corporate and global roles, ensuring high-quality hires.
- Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, consulting on workforce needs, market insights, and selection decisions.
- Draft and optimize job descriptions tailored to target candidate profiles.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill positions.
- Track and report on recruitment metrics, including time-to-hire and quality-of-hire.
- Execute advanced sourcing strategies across multiple channels (LinkedIn Recruiter, professional networks, referrals).
- Promote Seaspan’s employer brand through targeted campaigns and creative initiatives.
- Manage and optimize the Applicant Tracking System (SuccessFactors) to support recruitment and reporting.
- Collaborate with external recruitment firms and establish/maintain a Preferred Supplier List (PSL) to ensure access to top talent.
- Design, implement, and manage Seaspan’s Internship Program.
- Partner with business leaders to define intern requirements, coordinate selection, onboarding, and development experiences.
- Build relationships with universities and early-talent communities to attract top candidates.
- Support successful onboarding and integration of new hires, including conducting orientation sessions.
- Manage offboarding, exit insights, and trend reporting to HR leadership.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners on international hiring, relocation, and work permits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in talent acquisition, with a background in both in-house and search firm environments.
- Proven ability to source and recruit for corporate and international roles.
- Strong business-partnering skills with the ability to influence and consult.
- Experience managing early-talent or internship programs, or a strong interest in building one.
- Familiarity with SuccessFactors or similar ATS platforms and recruitment analytics.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and continuously seeking process improvements.
- Experience recruiting for technical, financial, or marine roles.
- Exposure global mobility, relocation, or temporary work permits.
- Occasional flexible hours or overtime to accommodate international interviews or deadlines.
