About The Role
The Senior Director of Accounting will lead the company’s accounting function with responsibility for accurate financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. The Senior Director of Accounting is a technically strong accounting leader with the ability to scale processes, mentor a team, and gradually take on additional finance responsibilities.

About The Role
The Senior Director of Accounting will lead the company’s accounting function with responsibility for accurate financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. The Senior Director of Accounting is a technically strong accounting leader with the ability to scale processes, mentor a team, and gradually take on additional finance responsibilities.
- Lead and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, and fixed assets.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP / IFRS.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Manage annual financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Monitor and manage the record-to-report workstream and provide guidance to support team members
- Deliver monthly, pre-close and final, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for executive leadership.
- Monitor and explain variances against budget/forecast.
- Provide accounting insights that support business decisions and cost control.
- Streamline workflows, close cycles, and reporting processes for efficiency.
- Lead implementation or optimization of ERP/accounting systems.
- Identify opportunities to enhance accuracy, automation, and scalability.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
- Partner with the CFO or VP of Finance on forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow.
- Gain exposure to strategic projects (M&A integration, financing, growth planning).
- Coordinate with external regulatory agencies for audits, where necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 8 – 12 years of progressive Accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA, MBA or CMA preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
- Proven ability to lead accounting teams and improve processes
- Hands-on ERP and financial systems experience (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and audit processes
