Position Purpose Summary

The Vice President, Information Technology is responsible for leading the strategic direction, development, and execution of the organization's information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CIO to develop and execute an Information and Operational Technology strategy utilizing appropriate metrics and KPI’s which align to current and future business requirements, enhance operational efficiency and support innovation and growth.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance current infrastructure and processes.
  • Lead the integration and optimization of OT systems.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls ensuring all IT systems are scalable, secure, reliable and compliant with industry standards and best practices.
  • Oversee the operations of the Corporation’s networks, databases, communications, and equipment.
  • Ensures IT services are delivered efficiently and cost effectively while maintaining a high degree of reliability ensuring proper action plans are in place for disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Collaborate with the Operations with respect to opportunities for improvement in all manners of operating business processes.
  • Manage and direct vendor and service provider relationships ensuring collaboration and cost effectiveness.
  • Remain current with emerging trends in products, services and standards and provide recommendations to CIO and senior leadership to positively impact business decisions.
  • Leads and develop a team of IT professionals providing mentoring to both corporate and site based IT professionals.
  • Manages the modifications and development of system generated reporting to meet the business requirements
  • Completes other duties or special projects as they may be assigned from time to time.

Skills, Qualifications And Demonstrated Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in IT with proven leadership experience in a senior management role
  • Experience in mining or another industrial setting.
  • Leadership in digital transformation and industrial technology integration.

Workplace Conditions:

  • Based at the corporate head office, located in downtown Toronto, Ontario with frequent travel.
  • Attention to work issues in the evening or on the weekend required.
