1.0 Temporary Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) Coach

Effective Immediately to the return of the employee


Location: All Regions

The BMS Coach position reports direclty to the Principal of Special Education. This position assists with conducting educational assessments, including skill assessments as well as in the development of Behaviour Management Plans and Skill Development Programs. The BMS Coach implements classroom strategies including antcedent-based strategies and strategies outlined in the Behaivour Management Plans and Skill Development Programs. This role is responsible for data collection, graphing and creation of progress notes. Providing direct coaching/modelling of behavioural strategies with in-school teams, including teachers and educational assistants; these team members work in collaboration with non-registered BMS Consultatnts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology (or college diploma in human services field)
  • 1-year minimum experience working with children with exceptionalities, preferably behavioural challenges

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of and experience utilizing the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis; demonstrated skills in implementing behavioural strategies for skill acquisition and behaviour reduction
  • Experience working in schools and/or intensive behavioural intervention settings
  • Experience with collecting data on student behaviours; use of different data collection methods and with graphing data
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team (school teams, Behaviour Support Services team)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle (regional travel required)
  • Knowledge and respect for Indigenous teachings and culture



Rate of Pay: $36.22 per hour
