Fairstone is looking to bring on a passionate, hard-working student to fill our open 2026 Performance Marketing Intern position. This is a contract position, joining the growing Digital Marketing team, currently consisting of ten highly specialized, data-driven marketers.

The successful candidate will work closely with channel managers to support full-funnel marketing initiatives that build awareness, engagement, and demand for Fairstone’s lending products. Responsibilities include assisting in the management and optimization of paid social campaigns across platforms such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube; supporting paid search efforts on Google and Microsoft; and contributing to programmatic campaigns with various partners. The intern will play a key role in monitoring media performance, generating insights, and helping drive both brand visibility and lead generation across Fairstone’s 240+ branches.

This internship is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated student to develop into a well-rounded digital marketer. You’ll gain hands-on experience across all major digital channels and collaborate with a variety of teams, including Digital Marketing, copywriting, graphic design, and data analytics. Interns will work directly with top enterprise-level digital marketing tools, such as advanced SEO platforms, campaign optimization solutions, analytics, and reporting systems. The combination of exposure to these tools and experience working for a Schedule 1 Canadian bank will provide a strong foundation for launching a successful career in digital marketing after graduation. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who is curious, creative, technically savvy, and passionate about digital marketing.

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Performance Marketing, this role has the following responsibilities:

  • Assists in managing Fairstone’s large-scale, multi-million-dollar national search engine marketing, paid social, and programmatic advertising programs. Focuses on campaign setup, ad uploads, and ongoing optimization across multiple digital channels to maximize performance
  • Plays a key role in supporting the growth of Fairstone’s YouTube advertising efforts by assisting with campaign management, conducting gap analyses to identify opportunities for improvement, and researching competitor strategies. Recommends new video content and formats based on findings, and works to maximize the impact of existing video assets using YouTube Creative Studio.
  • Supports keyword research, creative quality assurance, and performance tracking for digital campaigns.
  • Monitors and reports on the competitive environment to help inform marketing strategy.
  • Assists with program performance evaluation, including analysis and reporting using tools such as GA4, Looker Studio, Campaign Manager 360, and QuickSight.
  • Contributes to the improvement of processes and workflows within the marketing team.
  • Stays up to date on the latest digital marketing trends and shares relevant insights with the team.
  • Collaborates with internal teams (e.g., creative, analytics, legal) and external partners as needed to support campaign execution and compliance.
  • Participates in team meetings, training sessions, and special projects to support learning and professional development.

Job Skills

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Current post-secondary education student at a Canadian college or university
  • Experience within digital acquisition platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and Meta Ads Manager
    • Bonus points for experience and comfort navigating paid social advertising platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and Pinterest
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency using Microsoft Excel and strong presentation creation skills in Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, analytical, problem solving and issue resolution skills
  • Proven ability to effectively work with others on collaborative team projects while also having the ability to perform independent, autonomous work
  • Bilingual (English, French) considered a great asset
