Job Responsibilities Summary
The Senior Engineer is responsible for the overall planning of all engineering and operations relating to datacenter networking and its associated activities, ensuring that deployment projects are completed within the prescribed timelines. They are also accountable for control and governance activities related to the projects. The Senior Engineer works to improve performance and productivity outcomes for teams assigned to various projects, ensuring that the work is of high quality, adheres to budgetary constraints, and meets the established schedule. They play a key role in managing the project lifecycle, from planning to final implementation and project closure. You will be responsible for delivering projects within scope, schedule, budget, quality standards, and in compliance with methodologies and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities
- Act as a technical specialist and work closely with the manager to define the strategic direction and execute the developed plans.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, network specialists, and contract resources to prioritize workloads.
- Assist in implementing new technologies or services.
- Develop, monitor, and track CAPEX and OPEX budgets to ensure alignment with business goals and financial objectives.
- Collaborate with departmental heads to forecast and manage budgets, making adjustments as needed to support operational and capital investment needs.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and regulatory standards in all budgeting processes.
- Work closely with the finance team to monitor financial metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring budget efficiency and resource optimization.
- Review and assess engineering data and recommend changes to improve technical and operational efficiency.
- Handle configurations and technical requests from various internal clients, resolving routine issues independently.
- Validate engineering concepts related to datacenter technologies.
- Encourage and demonstrate a lean approach, curiosity, continuous learning, and empathy toward others.
- Use appropriate escalation methods to remove technical roadblocks.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, where technical teams are encouraged to take calculated risks.
- Provide guidance to team members and offer ongoing feedback to the manager.
- Perform other assigned tasks.

Essential Qualifications
Academic Background
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field is an asset.
- A Master's degree in Technology or Project Management is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in a telecommunications environment.
- 5+ years of experience as a specialist in technology infrastructure.
- 5+ years of experience in managing technology projects.
- Excellent understanding of SLAs and workflow modeling.
- A positive attitude with a strong interest in continuously learning, experimenting, and improving.
- Experience with ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding and experience in service management and service delivery platforms.
- Experience in leadership by influence within a matrix and agile model.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in English and French (spoken and written) required to collaborate with stakeholders in Quebec, Ontario, and across the United States.
- Experience in effective change management, implementing change, and helping others navigate through it.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and resolve issues independently.
- Occasional travel may be required (5%).
