Senior Unscheduled Care Nurse - Mental Health Services at NHS Scotland

The shift pattern for this post is: 24hr rotational
The service operates over a 24hr period and has a number of bases across NHS GG&C.
As part of Unscheduled Care within the whole system of Community Mental Health Services the post holder will work closely with all disciplines/agencies. The post holder will provide a service for individuals with complex mental health, physical and social care needs who present in crisis who may require additional home treatment/care intervention over a 24hr period, also providing a specialist mental health service into the Mental Health Assessment Units, Emergency Departments and inpatients services within the General Hospital setting. The post holder is expected to provide specialist advice to multi-disciplinary staff including consultant medical staff. The Adult Mental Health Liaison Service provides assessment and access to mental health inpatient beds over a 24hr period throughout GG&C. This includes arranging hospital admission for a patient should this be required. Due to the rapid response nature of Unscheduled Care, the post-holder will respond appropriately to patient need and will be responsible for prioritizing their own and junior staff’s workload and utilising resources appropriately to ensure all patient needs are met. They will be accountable to the Nurse Team Leader and will be required to cover for them in their absence. They will be supported by the Nurse Team Leader through line Management Supervision.
