The Opportunity:

The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting for a Performance Reporting Coordinator to fill a permanent full-time position. The Performance Reporting Coordinator’s principal accountability is for developing and monitoring an effective set of management systems that allow section decisions to be made based on accurate, complete, up-to-date and readily accessible information. This position will support the Waste Management Utility.

Responsible for the development, implementation and on-going management of Waste Management Utility performance and business improvement programs. Key responsibilities are to develop, analyze and report on Waste Management Utility performance, benchmarks and KPIs; to assist in operational and capital budget development; to assist with regulatory and compliance reporting; to manage various section related programs and to assist in the development and implementation of departmental service standards with an emphasis on customer service.

As our preferred candidate, you will have:

  • University Degree in Engineering, Environmental, Planning, Business Administration or related program or approved equivalent
  • Four (4) years’ experience in planning and operating processes of municipal infrastructure and/or in program management including staff mentoring, leadership, budget development, implementation and communication skills
  • Auditing experience is an asset
  • Must successfully pass all safety certificate courses currently required and others to be defined by the Province or by the City
  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience and understanding of business management in terms of practices, information, data, business processes, information systems and organization
  • Experience and understanding of strategic planning, business objective setting, levels of service targets, asset management, and performance monitoring
  • Strong computer aptitude including demonstrated proficiency with databases, detailed spreadsheets/records and word processing
  • Experience and understanding of quality and environmental management systems

$46.91 to $49.37 per hour

Hours of Work:

75 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday, some occasional evening and weekend work may be required when needed.
